The Role of the Invited

How do we restore the broken chain of a spiritual high and identify our role in the midst of growing integrity and deepening faith?

As foggy as the righteous path can seem at times, there is a guide directly spoken from the mouth of God with instructions of how to overcome any difficulty we face. I know what you're thinking- shocking, right? But really, how often do we catch ourselves battling to find the balance between control and surrender? The Creation in Genesis reveals how the trinity formed us from the dust with a longing for our hearts, to be made in the image of love, and in the process, accept the invitation from God to uphold a role that expands the kingdom built on REAL love. Becoming unified with God in love partly means we share His broken heart for the separation encountered through sin, but it does not mean that each of these areas of burdening is meant for us to carry out and resolve in our own power. Sometimes we assume our call to love lies beyond what we were meant to carry, and we begin to steal the responsibilities of God to try to pave the way for our own future. We become obsessed with our desires, past, future, struggles, etc., and we allow our spiritual growth to remain stagnant due to our abandonment of necessary control and lack of surrender in differing areas. For this very reason, the Bible was written to reveal our role embedded in the invitation of God to live out His intended love in harmony within the body of Christ. Out of blindness caused by this longing of freedom, help, peace, clarity, companionship, etc., we pray and seek out answers but fail to fix our eyes on fulfilling our role that then enables God to give us the answers we desire. God cares about our dreams and his sole motive remains always as love, but by failing to uphold our part to play for love to unfold in our lives, we limit God's hand over each circumstance. The longest chapter in the longest book of the bible, Psalm 119, recognizes the uncertainties, struggles, and exhaustion of life, but instead of focusing on the circumstances that are out of the author's control, they surrender each doubt, worry, and fear, and accept a new focus of what is within their control: obeying His commandments. This shift of perspective allows us to strengthen in our ability to fulfill our role to then give God room to work out the things only He has control over. So many people overlook the importance and honor given to us through the law simply because of its repetition, but this our distinct role given by the Lord of all creation as an act of free-willed, untainted love revealing a deep desire of involvement by a being who is willing to guide us through each and every failure. Although it seems repetitive, have we yet mastered its calling? If not, there is still a promise of more joy, peace, love, and excitement to flow from the fruit of its blessings, and we must not overlook the very satisfaction we were made to achieve. In the same way Jesus was to complete His role on earth, resurrect, and ascend to heaven to prepare the way for the Holy Spirit to be received in the heart of Christians, we too are burdened with the weight of sin and called upon to fulfill the role given to us through the law so that God can work thoroughly in the areas only He has the power to reveal love through. Ephesians 4:8 acknowledges Jesus' ascension bringing gifts to men through His ability to pass on the upcoming chapter to the Holy Spirit. In a similar manner, adopt the convictions in your life serving as opportunities to show love, and surrender the burdens that are not yours to carry. In this journey, may God bless you, bring you peace, and continuously alter your reality to unravel truth before all.
